Why start a medical linen service?
We’ve been in the cleaning business for 43 years. We’ve also been incorporating “green” business practices since the early 1970′s when we first started recycling, and reusable textiles offer a way to dramatically reduce medical waste. But most importantly, our wives and their friends told us about having to wear uncomfortable paper gowns for their mammograms. This made us realize how valuable patient comfort should be to a medical practice. The combination of being environmentally friendly while enhancing patient comfort convinced us we could start this business using our decades of cleaning experience, and really do something good, not only for our customers, but everyone.
We are a family-owned and operated business started by the owner of Chambers Cleaners, a dry cleaning and laundry service operating for more than 43 years in the greater Milledgeville, GA area. We’re small, and we enthusiastically embrace that fact. It keeps us close to our customers, and allows us to respond to their needs much quicker than large companies. In fact, if you’re one of our customers, you’re going to see one of our owners delivering your linen on a regular basis. How many linen companies can say that!
Shane Bridges | Owner & General Manager
A successful entrepreneur, Shane started his career by managing a $75 million dollar portfolio of commercial real estate assets for high-net worth individuals and resort communities. He’s also started and successfully sold an internet company, and now brings that real-world experience to MedLaundry. He’s married to Steve’s daughter, so he’s extra motivated to do his job well!
Charles Preston | Owner & Operations Manager
Like his magnetic smile in this photo, Charles makes sure our company culture is infused with a great, positive attitude every day. Charles was a true team player when he committed to running a local 5k in a patient gown to promote reusable textiles over disposables. He also finished in 8th out of 200 runners!
Steve Chambers | Owner & President
Steve is also the President of Chambers Cleaners, a dry cleaners and laundry serving the greater Milledgeville area for 44 years. He is a past president of the Southeastern Fabricare Association, and has served on the Milledgeville City Council for 15 years. He’s pictured with one of his daughters, Casie, who is married to Shane. We told you it’s a family company!
